My approach to my work is similar to my approach to most things in that I try to enjoy what I do and do it to the best of my ability. I like to allow enough time for the job to be done properly and am not interested in cutting corners. A good design requires fermentation time. I like to work with a simple and appropriate palette of materials and treat them with respect.
I enjoy working with other people as part of a small team where each individual can offer their strengths to the project.
My preference is to work with clients who have a long-term commitment to their building and have a flexible time frame.
I endeavour to develop a close working relationship with clients in order to achieve a design that is collaborative. As a result our projects tend to portray the "personality of the client", rather than that of the architect. Many clients have become close friends and we continue to work on projects with some.
